This Privacy Policy explains how SalaryTools ("we", "us") handles information when you use our website and the calculators on it (the "Service"). We built the Service to be private by default, and this page describes exactly what that means.
1. The calculators run in your browser
Every calculator on SalaryTools runs entirely in your browser using plain JavaScript. The salary, hourly rate, hours, expenses and any other figures you type are processed on your own device. They are never transmitted to us, never stored on our servers, and never shared. When you close or refresh the tab, those inputs are gone.
2. No accounts, no personal data collected by us
There is nothing to sign up for. We do not ask for your name, email, or payment details to use the calculators, and we do not build a profile of you. The only time you share personal information is if you choose to email us — for example through the Contact page — in which case we use it solely to reply to you.
3. Information collected automatically
Like almost all websites, our hosting provider automatically logs limited technical information when a page is requested — such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the time of the request. This data is used to serve the site, keep it secure, and understand aggregate traffic. It is not used to identify you personally.
4. Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to measure aggregate, anonymous usage — for example how many people visit a page or which calculator is most popular. Any such analytics are used only in aggregate and never to track you as an individual across other sites.
5. Cookies and local storage
The core calculators do not require cookies to work. We may use a small amount of local storage or cookies for basic preferences or anonymous analytics. If we introduce advertising in future, third-party ad providers may set their own cookies; where required by law, we will request your consent first.
6. Advertising
SalaryTools is free. If we display ads to support the Service, advertising partners may collect limited technical and usage information through their own cookies or identifiers, subject to their own privacy policies. We do not share the figures you enter into the calculators with any advertiser.
7. Third-party services
We load web fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving those files. We may also link to third-party websites; we are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to, and we encourage you to review their policies.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your choices and rights
Because we do not collect the figures you enter, there is nothing on our side to export or delete for the calculators themselves. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete any personal information you have sent us by email. 10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
